About Pro Laptop Gear
Our mission, editorial standards and approach to transparent gaming laptop education
What Pro Laptop Gear is for
Pro Laptop Gear is an independent educational website focused on gaming laptops, performance hardware, screens, batteries and practical ownership decisions. Our goal is to explain complicated laptop information in clear English so readers can make better decisions with less guesswork.
A laptop is not simply its CPU or graphics chip. The same part can act differently when it is paired with another cooling system, performance mode or display. We therefore explain context and trade-offs instead of declaring universal winners on the strength of a single marketing specification.
How we create guides
Our articles are written for real questions: Which resolution makes sense? When does extra RAM help? What can watt-hours tell you about battery life? How should you compare two models advertised with similar specifications? We organize answers around definitions, user scenarios, verifiable facts, sensible checklists and limitations.
We prefer primary technical resources, original equipment manufacturer documentation and clearly described independent measurements. Sources are linked when useful. General information is distinguished from specific product claims. Because laptop specifications can change by region or model number, readers should always verify an exact SKU before making a purchase.
Our editorial commitments
- Clear explanations of CPU, GPU, memory, power and display specifications.
- No invented gaming benchmarks, simulated hands-on testing or fabricated product ratings.
- Transparent calculator formulas and visible limitations.
- Readable pages with useful navigation and a consistent mobile-friendly design.
- Corrections when credible new information shows that a statement is inaccurate.
About our tools
Our laptop suitability score is an educational rule set based on component classes. It does not measure a real computer or claim a universal FPS number. The battery tool divides usable energy by a user-supplied average power draw, while the display tool calculates pixel density from a mathematical formula. These are on-device browser calculations, not hardware diagnostics.
Reviews and independence
Unless a specific article clearly says otherwise and describes its methodology, our published guides are research-led explainers rather than first-hand laptop reviews. We do not claim ownership or laboratory testing of any particular device discussed in a guide.
